Vintage shibori indigo tie-dye cotton kimono

$240.00Price

This beautiful kimono was made and used in the late 20th century in Japan.

Shibori is a traditional Japanese textile dyeing technique that manipulates fabric to create intricate patterns and designs.

The technique involves shaping and securing the fabric in various ways before dyeing it. When the fabric is dyed, the areas that have been manipulated or bound resist the dye, creating areas of color and areas of white or undyed fabric.

Other types of tie-dyed textiles are used for the collar area.

All hand-sewn with cotton threads, in good condition to wear or hang as textile art.
