A rag rug woven in the sakiori tradition, made from Japanese old cloth.
Strips of worn cotton were torn and rewoven to create a sturdy textile for everyday use in rural households.

The surface holds marks of long wear, with softened fibers and areas where the color has faded, giving it a quiet and worked quality.

The colors shift through off white, black, orange, green, and muted purples, forming irregular checks and stripes.

Three separate sakiori panels are joined together, and the seams show exposed edges and rough stitching that reflect the practical nature of the original construction.

It can be placed on the floor or hung on a wall, keeping a subdued presence while showing the layered history of reused cloth.
