Created from many pieces of well-used cotton cloth, this Japanese vintage futon cover is a beautiful example of boro and sashiko craftsmanship.

Indigo, brown, gray, and patterned fabrics have been carefully pieced together, with every patch reflecting the practical spirit of making textiles last for generations.

Hand stitching secures each layer, while areas of wear, fading, and visible repairs tell the story of a cloth that remained in daily use for many years. Both sides reveal different patchwork compositions, making this textile especially appealing as a display piece.

Its rich variety of fabrics, natural wear, and thoughtful repairs embody the quiet beauty of Japanese folk textiles and the tradition of valuing every piece of cloth.
