Production of Japanese sarasa (calico) began in the Edo period when skillful Japanese dye workers found a method to inspire the designs of Indian calicos.
4 pieces of weaving length are carefully sewn together by hand stitching. Some places were repaired by hand Sashiko stitching in old-times.
