This vest is made of indigo-dyed Sakiori fabric.

SAKIORI is a traditional Japanese weaving technique in which used kimono are ripped into strings and woven again to make cloth.

It was used for farming in the Tohoku region and Yamagata Prefecture. It has been used and washed repeatedly, so it is soft, and the holes have been reinforced with Sashiko stitching.
