This is a katazome indigo-dyed cotton fragment.  This one printed Chrysanthemum flowers in a tortoiseshell pattern.
 
Katazome is a Japanese technique of stencil resist dyeing that involves drawing rice-paste designs on cloth, dyeing the cloth, and then washing off the paste.
 
Material: Cotton 100%
