This is a part of the old ramie or hemp mosquito net. Mosquito nets called Kaya are insect-repellent nets that were used all over Japan since ancient times.


In mid-summer, it was so hot that we used to open all the windows in the house and sleep surrounded by mosquito nets.


Several places have been repaired by beautiful Sashiko stitching with some other ramie fabrics in old times. 


The length was sewn together by machine, The color is dark green.
