This is a about 100years old fragment of hand-painted clane and bamboo leaves on Katazome-dyed indigo textile.
Katazome is a Japanese technique of stencil-resist dyeing that involves drawing rice-paste designs on cloth, dyeing the cloth, and then washing off the paste.
Some places were patched by hand Sashiko stitching in old times.
