Woven from ramie and decorated with an ikat pattern, this textile was once used as a waist cloth or apron-like garment for workwear.

The lightweight, open weave allowed air to pass through easily, making it well suited for daily use during warmer seasons.

Several patches and repairs remain visible across the surface, preserving evidence of repeated mending over many years.

The softened ramie fibers, faded indigo tones, and contrasting repair fabrics reflect a practical approach to textile use, where cloth was carefully maintained and reused for as long as possible.
