This handwoven thick cotton 4-paneled Noren or shop curtain was made in the mid 20th century in Japan.

 

Noren is a traditional Japanese curtain used in shops and homes to define spaces, provide privacy, and display decorative designs.

 

This one was used in a dyeing store. The Kanji means family crest and the shop of dyeing shop. 

 

※Bamboo sticks are not included.
