Japanese vintage cotton Katazome fragment

A cotton katazome fragment featuring a repeating geometric floral pattern arranged in a continuous grid.
 
Created using the traditional Japanese katazome technique, the design was formed by applying resist paste through hand-cut paper stencils before dyeing, resulting in precise yet expressive motifs.
 
The reverse side reveals a rich indigo tone with faint traces of the pattern, along with small patches and repairs that speak to years of practical use. The softened cotton and gentle variations in color reflect the character that develops through age and handling.
