Japanese vintage indigo dyed katazome cotton textile.
Katazome is a resist dyeing technique using paper stencils and rice paste before dyeing.
This piece features small repeating geometric and floral-like motifs arranged evenly across the indigo ground. The dense repeated pattern creates a quiet rhythm within the cloth. Slight irregularities from the stencil work and soft fading from age remain visible throughout.
The fabric shows texture and softness formed through long everyday use.
Suitable for wall display, framing, or interior use.
