This antique textile features a katazome (stencil resist-dyed) pattern of large chrysanthemum flowers — a traditional Japanese symbol of longevity and purity.

Hand-dyed in natural indigo on soft cotton, the cloth reveals gentle fading, small frayed areas, and a smooth texture that comes only with age and daily use. The repeated floral and vine motifs create a calm rhythm, showing the quiet beauty of handmade imperfection.

Once part of everyday life — perhaps from a futon cover or kimono — this piece carries the spirit of rural Japan and the warmth of handwork passed through generations.

Perfect as a wall hanging, framed textile art, or interior accent.
