This antique textile features a katazome (stencil resist-dyed) pattern of chrysanthemum and arabesque motifs arranged in a repeating floral lattice.

The chrysanthemum, a symbol of longevity and nobility in Japan, is framed by flowing vine-like curves that create a graceful rhythm across the indigo ground.

Hand-dyed in natural indigo on soft cotton, the fabric shows gentle fading, repairs, and the texture that only time and use can bring. Once part of a kimono or futon cover, it carries the quiet strength and warmth of handmade Japanese cloth.

Perfect for wall display, framed textile, or interior decoration.
