This thick cotton rug was printed with Family crest of Fuji flowers, pine trees, using a tube-drawing Tsutsugaki technique in old time.

 

Tsutsudakaki is a Japanese resist-dyeing technique in which a pattern is drawn on the cloth with glue, the fabric is dyed, and the glue is washed off.

 

This rug was mended and repaired many time with Sashiko stitching. Good Boro condition.
