This book made of old recycled paper is a sample book of weaving called Shimachou.
In the past, Japanese weavers cut their own woven cloth into small pieces and kept them in a book like this so that the same pattern could be folded in subsequent years.
This one has mainly silk Kasuri and indigo-dyed cotton Kasuri pasted on it. Perhaps it made out over 100years ago. It would not be easy to find one with so many pages like this.
