This is an indigo-dyed silk textile, perhaps used for a bed cover for summer.
The fabric is homespun, handwoven, and four narrow panels have been joined to make the one-bed cover. It is thick and quite soft. There are a number of tiny holes and areas of thinning, but it is in great condition for the age.
This silk textile has dyed with a technique called Komon, a small stencil print.
