This is an indigo-dyed cotton rug called furoshiki.
Many furoshiki are used and have reinforced squares that are easily damaged.
The fabric is homespun, handwoven, and four narrow panels have been joined to make one furoshiki. It is a heavier fabric, thick and quite soft. There are a number of tiny holes and areas of thinning, but it is in great condition for the age.
Material: Cotton 100%
Measures: 166cm×160cm (65in × 64in)
