This is a three-panel furoshiki made of handwoven fabric, stencil dyed with indigo, A furoshiki is used for wrapping things, usually for transport.
The fabric is homespun, handwoven, and four narrow panels have been joined to make one furoshiki. It is a heavier fabric, thick and quite soft. There are a number of tiny holes and areas of thinning, but it is in great condition for the age.
