This is an indigo-dyed thick and soft rug from Nagano prefecture, made of Katazome stencil dyed textiles and the hand-weaved stripe ikat textiles.
 
The backside was made of plaid hand-weaved textiles.
 
All hand sewing and many holes are repaired by sashiko stitching. They repeated washing and mending become very soft.
 
You can use a rug or hang it as textile art.
