This is a mosquito net for babies or children that was used in western Japan in the 19th century. It is made of hand-woven hemp or ramie. The edges are made of cotton fabric with indigo-dyed shibori patterns.
And there are signs that it has been used and repaired with sashiko stitching. There are also many holes.
