This kimono vest is made of cotton fabric dyed by a technique called itajime-shibori.
 
Itajime is a Japanese tie-dyeing technique used in Shibori. It involves folding fabric and clamping it between boards, creating resist patterns when dyed. The word "Itajime" comes from "ita" (board) and "jimeru" (to press).
 
All hand sewing with Sashiko stitching.
