This is a large 5 panels cotton sakiori Futonji(bed cover) rug from mid 20th century in the north side of japan's Aomori prefecture.
Sakiori is a traditional technic of woven fabric that is produced from scrap fabric (worn out cloth and garments torn thinly) and then woven tightly into clothing and other products for daily use.
Sakiori is typically woven with warps of cotton and wefts of thin worn-out cloth. These fabrics are durable and warm, turning softer in texture with use.
This one backside is made from some of the green Bags for grain.
