Vintage Japanese ramie mosquito net fragment
This is a part of the old mosquito net,  made of hand-weaved ramie rustic threads.
 
Mosquito nets are insect-repellent nets that were used all over Japan in the old times. In mid-summer, it was so hot that we used to open all the windows in the house and sleep surrounded by mosquito nets.
 
This one was dyed with indigo and turmeric in old times. The faded texture is very beautiful after being used and washed for a long period of time.
