This beautiful and colorful textile is patched including Wasarasa(Japanese calico) textiles in old times by hand stitching.
Production of Japanese Sarasa (calico) began in the Edo period when skillful Japanese dye workers found a method to inspire the designs of Indian calicos.
The back side was also patched with cotton Kasuri(ikat) textiles too.
