Maekake is a traditional style of Japanese apron, tied at the hips and worn by farmers, craftsmen, and the staff of certain shops. This one used to use in a farmer's house.
All hand sewing and many holes are repaired by sashiko stitching with a lot of beautiful textiles. It became very soft that repeated washing and mending much time.
Perhaps it was made in the late 19th century and use for mid 20th century in Northern area Japan.
