This is a Boro fragment made mainly of indigo-dyed Kasuri ikat textile. Kasuri is a textile weaving technique that originated in Japan.
The term "kasuri" refers to the distinctive pattern created when pre-dyed yarns are woven together to create a fabric with a blurred or mottled effect. The technique involves resisting dying the yarns before weaving them together, resulting in a unique and irregular pattern.
Some holes were repaired with some of other Japanese textiles by hand Sashiko stitching in old times.
