Patches and visible hand-stitching remain throughout, showing repeated reinforcement for practical use.The upper section is strengthened for tying at the waist, and the wide rectangular form allows the cloth to wrap securely around the body.
　
Such pieces were worn over clothing during farm work, and in some cases also functioned as a simple underlayer or undergarment.
　
The layered construction and mending reflect long-term everyday use.
