This is a fragment of bed cover cloth used about 100 years ago in north area of Japan. The textile was hand weaved with striped pattern from indigo dyed threads.

Overall, it is very beautiful as it has been used and most of the holes have been repaired by Sashiko stitching. Most articles are cotton.

They repeated washing and mending to become very soft.
