Japanese vintage sashiko stitched Benibana dyed cotton fragment
This is a small fragment of hand-woven cotton textile dyed with safflower.
 
It was probably originally used as the lining of a kimono. but was continually repaired by applying fabric and Sashiko stitching as it was used repeatedly.
 
All hand sewing by hand Sashiko stitching.
 
Measures: 33cm×129cm (12in × 50in)
