A patchwork of indigo-dyed cotton, stitched together by machine, likely during the Shōwa period.
Several types of kasuri (ikat) fabrics are combined with plain indigo, their subtle dots, broken lines, and geometric motifs creating rhythm and depth.
Once utilitarian cloth from futon covers and everyday garments, the fragments were joined in a domestic setting, reflecting both necessity and creativity. Today, it stands as an abstract textile work with quiet presence, suitable as a wall hanging or interior piece.
