This is a large 5 panels sakiori Futonji (bed cover) rug from mid 20th century.

Sakiori is a traditional technic or woven fabric that is produced from scrap fabric (worn-out cloth and garments torn thinly) and then woven tightly into clothing and other products for daily use.

Sakiori is typically woven with warps of cotton and wefts of thin worn-out cloth.

This rug is made of a patchwork of indigo-dyed cotton on the back, with a small amount of cotton inside, and is thick enough to be very easy to use as a rug.

Material : Cotton 100%

Mesures: 165cm×168cm (65in × 66in)
