An indigo dyed katazome cotton textile.
Katazome is a resist-dyeing technique in which patterns are created using paper stencils and rice paste resist before dyeing.
This process leaves subtle bleeding and irregular edges in the motifs, visible in this piece.
Hexagonal kikkō motifs form the base of the design, combined with floral and botanical elements. The repeated pattern creates a steady rhythm, softened by slight irregularities from the handwork.
It is a fragment formed through everyday use rather than decoration.
Perfect for use as a wall hanging, framed textile, or interior display.
Measures : 46cm(18.1in) x 36cm(14.2in)
