An indigodyed katazome cotton textile.
Katazome is a resistdyeing technique in which patterns are created using paper stencils and rice paste resist before dyeing.
This process leaves subtle bleeding and irregular edges in the motifs, visible in this piece.
Floral and geometric motifs are arranged vertically, leaving generous areas of indigo ground. The patterns sit quietly within the cloth, creating a steady and restrained rhythm.
It is a fragment formed through everyday use rather than decoration.
Perfect for use as a wall hanging, framed textile, or interior display.
