An indigo dyed katazome cotton textile.
Katazome is a resist dyeing technique in which patterns are created using paper stencils and rice-paste resist before dyeing.

This process leaves subtle bleeding and irregular edges in the motifs, visible in this piece.
Fan- and floral-like motifs are arranged on a diagonal, creating a sense of movement across the surface. Despite the lightness of the design, the indigo ground gives the textile a calm, grounded presence.

It is a fragment formed through everyday use rather than decoration.

Perfect for use as a wall hanging, framed textile, or interior display.
