It was used in the Kansai region of western Japan.

A large cotton textile assembled from multiple indigo-dyed fragments.

Plain indigo cloth is combined with patterned sections, creating a surface shaped by repair and reuse rather than design.

Hand-stitched patches, seams, stains, and areas of wear remain visible, recording long use in everyday life. The white geometric motif stands out against the softened indigo ground.

Differences in fabric weight, fading, and texture appear across the surface, showing how the cloth was built up over time.Well suited for wall display or as a large textile laid across a space.

The scale allows the structure, repairs, and quiet balance of materials to be fully felt.
